Doner kebab – lean beef mince instead of lamb keeps this on the healthier side.

Doner Kebab
(Serves 2 – 3SP per serving on WW Freestyle)

Ingredients:
250g  5% fat lean beef mince (ground beef)
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp dried Italian herbs
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
a sprinkle of salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Preheat oven to gas mark 4/180C
In a bowl, combine the dried oregano, dried Italian herbs, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper.

Add the beef mince and mix thoroughly for a couple minutes.  Next squeeze and knead the mixture until there are no air pockets and the meat is very smooth.

Shape the meat into a loaf, spray with frylight and place on a baking tray.  Bake in the middle shelf of the oven for 45 minutes, turning the loaf half way through the cooking time to brown it evenly.  Once cooked right through, remove from the oven and cover with foil.

Allow to rest for 10 minutes.  Slice the donor kebab as thinly as possible and serve with a pitta or wrap, salad & chilli sauce.  Remember to add points for your roll, pitta bread or wrap & sauce.
